Acquisition of Equity Interest in Di Tai Plastics

Extends Orbit's Manufacturing Capabilities in U.S. and Asia

North Salt Lake, Utah - September 8, 2003 – Orbit® Irrigation Products, Inc., one of the world"s leading manufacturers and suppliers of irrigation products for the residential and commercial markets, today announced its purchase of an equity interest in Di Tai Plastics Corporation in China. The increase in manufacturing capabilities and capacity resulting from this acquisition are part of Orbit’s global strategy to meet customer demand, both in the United States and abroad.

"This joint venture further extends our competitive advantage in producing the highest quality irrigation products at the lowest possible price,” noted Orbit CEO K.C. Ericksen. “Orbit customers will also benefit from the flexibility of shipping from either the United States or Asia.”

Earlier this year, Orbit opened a sales and service office in Shanghai, making it possible to provide real-time service to the Asian operations of many of Orbit’s major customers. Ericksen noted that the addition of this office also serves to facilitate communication between Orbit’s headquarters in the United States and its factories in the region and to provide engineering and quality assurance support to those facilities.

Di Tai is a prominent manufacturer of molded plastic and metals, headquartered in Ningbo, China, southeast of Shanghai. Di Tai’s General Manager George Shi emphasized the significance of the new partnership, “Working with one of the largest irrigation products manufacturers in the world markedly increases Di Tai’s ability to grow our business, add to the bottom line and build relationships in the global marketplace.”
