Product Description:

Replacement solenoids open and close automatic irrigation valves via a 24V connection to your controller. When electricity flows, a stainless steel rod lifts off a bleed hole, allowing the valve diaphragm to open and water to flow. Built with a copper core, insulated lead wires, and waterproof resin casing to protect internal components. Interchangeability depends on the solenoid footprint — check the compatibility chart in images.
Solenoid failure is rare, but replacement is straightforward: turn off the mainline, remove waterproof wire nuts, unthread the old solenoid, thread in the new one, reconnect wires with new waterproof wire nuts, and turn the mainline back on.

Bad out of the box

Installed new solenoid and it was buzzing louder than the original unit.
Not common to have a bad solenoid new so I rechecked all the diagnostic and found that yep it’s junk.

Replacement part to fix leak of solenoid

After troubleshooting with a phone tech, it was determined the solenoid was the issue. Orbit sent me the replacement solenoid assembly at no cost and that fixed the leak issue.
